Chapter One
* On the first day of high school, Brody Vega's teasing and bullying lacks it's usual sting, leading Micah Royce to believe that he doesn't actually mean what he says. Micah tells him off. During their Home EC period, Micah can't shake the feeling that someone is watching him. Twice, he finds that it is Brody. When they go back to the kitchen to clean for the next period, Brody grazes Micah's hand, seemingly on purpose. While they are washing dishes, Micah drops one, but Brody catches it. When he hands it back to him, he touches his hand and smiles flirtatiously before walking away.

Chapter Two
* A few days later, after Brody's lack of bullying and continuous staring, Micah asks his best friend Angel what she thinks it means and if he is just imagining things. She says to wait to see what it leads to and that she thinks he craves love so he is seeing it everyone. Vanessa confronts Micah about their recent breakup, still bitter. Joel apologizes to Micah for the previous years events, shocking Micah. Micah reluctantly accepts the apology and becomes his friend again.

Chapter Three
* Micah and Vanessa get into another argument during school, and Micah discovers that Brody had overheard the entire thing, catching his pity-filled glance after the argument. That night, Micah has a wet dream about Brody and Joel. 

Chapter Four
* During PE, Micah is harassed and teased inside the locker room, forcing him to leave and change inside the bathroom. After he changes, Brody enters the bathroom, leading a conversation and the revelation that Brody thinks his friends are jerks. When the seven-minute bell rings, Mitchel beats him up, but Brody saves Micah. The ensuing conversation reveals that Brody is not who everyone thinks he is. Brody passes Micah a note during science, revealing that he likes him, and asks him on a date. Micah does not believe him, replying with a no. That afternoon, Brody follows Micah to the park. The encounter nearly ends in a kiss, but Micah flees. 

Chapter Five
* Brody shows up at Micah's house, and Micah reluctantly accompanies him on a date. They go to a movie and end up holding hands. This event slightly alters Micah opinion, and he starts to think Brody is being honest. While they are texting, they decide that they are now officially dating/boyfriends. The next day, Micah gets his feelings hurt after Brody continues to bully him, despite knowing it is a ruse. 

Chapter Six
* After school, on Micah's street, they nearly kiss but Micah feels someone is watching him. They walk to his house arguing over who's hotter. They meet Korin. Micah intervenes in a fight between his parents, getting a black eye. Micah asks his mother about relationships after his father leaves for work. The black eye generates concern from Brody, nearly blowing their cover. Brody confronts Micah in the bathroom, but he refuses to give information on what happened. They go on a date at the beach and Micah finally reveals what happened. Brody puts his arm around them for the first time. 

Chapter Seven
* Micah is walking home when he runs into his sister, who runs, crying, from the house. Micah enters hesitantly, trying to escape to his room and not draw attention to himself, but trips over his father's shoes, and gets beaten by his father. Micah locks himself in his room and cuts himself for the first time. At the park, Brody asks if he can kiss Micah, and he says yes, but they hear a camera shutter-tone go off. They find it is Mitchell. He escapes with photos of them near-kissing and holding hands. As Micah nears his house, Mitchell attacks him and say they must do whatever he says or else.

Chapter Eight
* A few weeks later, Brody refuses to do anything else for Mitchell. They tell him in the bathroom the next day, and nearly get beaten up, but a teacher interrupts. Pictures of the two are them are posted all over the school, but Brody's face is morphed, his identity blocked. Micah storms outside and Angel chases after him. In the school yard, they are attacked by Mitchell and his goons. Brody saves them, and attempts to go after the goons, but Micah is able to hold him back. Brody eventually runs off. That night, Brody calls and reveals that he had attacked Mitchell, sending him to the hospital with broken nose.

Chapter Nine
* Brody thinks Mitchell is out for blood. They are about to kiss while getting ready for a dance when Brody's mother interrupts them. Someone throws a beverage at them as they leave. Micah, tortured by not being able to be with Brody, escapes to the bathroom and cuts himself. Mitchell interrupts, nearly kills him, but is arrested. That night, Micah is nearly drowned by his father.

Chapter Ten
* Brody discovers Micah's scars as they jog. Brody kisses Micah during lunch.

Chapter Eleven
* Brody arrives at Micah's window in the middle of the night. Micah sneaks out, and the two end up in the middle of the street. They lie down and look at the stars, and are nearly run over. They also go to a treehouse in the forest and lie down, staring out at the moon. 

Chapter Twelve
* Micah's mother is in the hospital. A fake story from his father is that they were mugged. Micah resists going home, but his father forces him. Brody asks Micah to prom. A weeks later, Micah visits his mother for the first time and nearly tells her about being gay and going to prom with a boy when she asks for a picture of him and flees. 

Chapter Thirteen
* They slow dance with no music. At prom, they are refused entrance at first. They slow dance to WYLMITE, say they love each other. Food fight, washing in locker room, end up kissing. They take showers and go to Micah's locker to get new clothes. They find it vandalized. A fight ensues, resulting in Brody receiving cracked ribs. 

Chapter Fourteen 
* They get ice cream, Micah licks it off of Brody. Micah's mother dies. At the funeral, it is only Korin, Angel, Vanessa. Micah tells the police about his father, he has disappeared. Brody convinces his parents to leave for a vacation for the Fourth Of July. 

CHAPTER ONE
* On the first day of ninth grade, Brody shows a strange interest in Jenson. When he is bullying Jenson, he doesn't seem to mean it and Jenson tells him off.
* In Home EC, Jenson feels that someone is staring at him, and finds out that it is Brody. When they go back to clean the kitchen, Brody lingers in the back with Jenson and grazes his hand; he feels that he is doing it on purpose.
* Jenson slips on water and drops a dish, but Brody catches it in time. He grazes Jenson's hand again, and flashes him a flirty smile before leaving.

CHAPTER TWO
* Jenson feels Brody staring at him again and Brody doesn't insult him at all.
* Jenson asks Angel what she thinks it means and feels that he is just imagining things.
* Vanessa confronts Jenson once more during school, still hurt by their breakup since he has been avoiding her.

CHAPTER THREE
* Joel apologizes to Jenson, shocking him. He reluctantly becomes friends with him again.
* Jenson and Vanessa get into another argument during school. After it, Jenson sees Brody staring at him again.
* Jenson has a dream that him and Joel are doing stuff, and then it turns into a horrible nightmare.

CHAPTER FOUR
* During PE, Grady is bullying Jenson and begins to beat him up. Brody saves him and they have a talk. Jenson doesn't believe that he means what he says.
* Brody passes Jenson a note during science. Jenson doesn't reply until after school in the hallway.
* Brody follows Jenson to the park, and they almost kiss, but Jenson flees before they can. 

CHAPTER FIVE
* Brody invites Jenson on a date, and Jenson reluctantly agrees. They go to a movie, and hold hands. Jenson likes it. 
* When they are texting, they decided that they are boyfriends now.

CHAPTER SIX
* Jenson get hurt when Brody continues to bully him, despite knowing that they need to keep up a ruse.
* After school, on Jenson's street, they are about to kiss again when Jenson feels like someone IS watching them. He shrugs it off, and they walk to his house arguing over who's hotter.
* Enter Korin.

CHAPTER SEVEN
* Jenson intervenes in a fight between his parents before school, earning a black eye. Brody shows concern during school, almost blowing their cover.
* Jenson also asks his mother what he should do with relationship problems. She says to listen to his heart, that's it's easy to, and that he'll be okay.
* Brody corners Jenson in the bathroom, but Jenson does not reveal what happened.
* They go on a beach date and Jenson finally reveals what happened. Brody tries to hug him, but Jenson fights him off, but finally succumbs. Brody puts his arm around Jenson for the first time.

CHAPTER EIGHT
* Jenson's sister leaves.
* At the park, Jenson and Brody are together. Brody asks if he can kiss Jenson, and just as they are about to, a camera shutter-tone goes on. It is Grady, trying to catch them together. They chase him, tackle him, but he escapes.
* As Jenson nears his home, Grady attacks him and says he must either be his slave or he will reveal the pictures to everyone.

CHAPTER NINE
* Brody refuses to do anything more for Grady. 
* Pictures of Brody and Jenson almost-kissing, Brody's face morphed, are posted all over his locker. Jenson storms outside, and Angel chases him. They get attacked by Grady and two of his goons. Brody saves them, but Jenson holds him back long enough for the three people to escape. Brody runs off.
* Brody reveals that he attacked Grady, sending him to the hospital with a broken nose.

CHAPTER TEN
* Brody thinks Grady is out for blood.
* They are about to kiss getting ready for a dance when Brody's mother interrupts them. 
* Someone throws a milkshake at the car as they leave, aimed at Jenson, and it splatters over all of them. 

CHAPTER ELEVEN
* Grady attacks Jenson in the bathroom, nearly stabbing him. Grady is arrested.
* Jenson is nearly drowned by his father.

CHAPTER TWELVE 
* Brody discovers Jenson's scars when they are jogging.
* Brody kisses Jenson during lunch.

CHAPTER THIRTEEN
* Jenson's mother is in the hospital.
* Jenson's father drags him home.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN
* Brody asks Jenson to prom
* Jensons visits his mother for the first time, nearly telling her about going to a prom with a guy but he breaks when she says to get a picture with his girlfriend and flees.
* Getting ready for prom, Brody and Jenson slow dance with no music.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN
*  At prom, they are refused entrance until Brody threatens to go to the news.
* They slow dance at prom to When You Look Me In The Eyes, and they say they love each other.
* During prom, a food fight ensues and they go to wash up in the locker room. They end up kissing, and are caught by a teacher but he doesn't care.
* After prom, their lockers are vandalized, a fight ensues ending in Brody receiving cracked ribs.

CHAPTER SIXTEEN
* His mother dies.
* Jenson tells the police about his father.
* The police reveal his father is not home, and Jenson goes back to pack up his belongings. Brody tries to go, but can't get up. Drew and Angel stay with him at his house; him and Drew hug for the first time. J

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
* The funeral.
* The father shows up, nearly killing Jenson, but the police show up; his father flees

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
* Brody managed to convince his parents to go on a fourth of july vacation in the Bahamas.
* Angel and Drew arrive to stay with them. Jenson overhears them conversing about how they hate that Jenson blames himself for everything.
* A fight ensues, nearly making Drew hit Jenson, but instead he collapses in Brody's arms, muttering Just Kill me.

CHAPTER NINETEEN
* Angel witnesses Jenson cutting himself.
* Brody's ribs are healed; they have sex.
* Jenson finds out about Jackson *Brody's BF)

CHAPTER TWENTY
* They all go back to Jenson's to finish packing; they find everything trashed and his pets killed. His father is hiding there and nearly kills jenson and Brody. The cops arrive and are forced to shoot him. He dies.

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
* Brody's parents return and Brody reveals EVERYTHING.
* Angel and Drew stay over again; Jenson reveals to Brody that he has to move to Tennessee.
* Brody's mother is happy for the two of them; Brody's father reveals his true feelings.

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
* Jenson moves.
* In Tennessee, he cuts himself/doesn't eat or sleep.
* His grandmother reveals he can go back to Springfield because Brody's parents have agreed to adopt him.

 CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE
* Jenson returns to Springfield.
* First day of tenth grade, Brody and Jenson save Carter Hill, a gay boy, when he is getting beaten up by Bruce and Benji. They become best friends. 
* Jenson and Brody are at home and are about to have sex when the doorbell rings. It is Jenson's sister.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
* Brody's mother discovers a condom in the boys room, and a fight between her and her husband ensues, resulting in the father storming out of the house.
* Brody and Jenson come home to find his mother crying, Jenson blames himself for Brody's father leaving.

CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
* Brody and Jenson shop for Thanksgiving, but Jenson doesn't see the point. At the dinner, Brody seems to be ashamed of Jenson, and a fight results. 
* Jenson ignores Brody for a few week before they talk and make up.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX
* They are playing in the snow and Jenson runs the ice up Brody's abs. They kiss.
* Jenson's grandmother reveals she has cancer. She has a few months to live. Jenson can't be flown out to see her.
* Jenson's grandmother dies.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
* Jenson catches Brody cheating on him.
* Jenson begins dating Carter, acting on his feelings for him as well as trying to get revenge.
* Jenson and Carter are kissing at school and Brody sees them and they get into an arguement. Carter catches on to Jenson using him, but Jenson realizes that he truly loves Carter.

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
* Jenson can't get back together with Brody even after they kiss on impulse.
* On Valentine's day, Brody gives Jenson a Claddagh ring despite them not being together for their anniversary.
* Jenson puts it on in the way that means their heart is taken, and thus they get back together. Jenson gives him a love brooch

CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
* They have sex again
* Take a trip to Florence; build fort out of sheets, get drunk, have sex

CHAPTER THIRTY
* They graduate from high school.

 

 PROLOGUE
* In a note to Jasmine, Jenson reveals stuff about his father and him being gay. 
* After school, Jasmine gives him a keychain because of his pain.
* Jenson reveals to all of his other friends that he is gay.

CHAPTER ONE
* Jenson breaks up with Vanessa because he isn't completely sure if he gay or not but knows their relationship can't go any further.
* She loses it and freaks out. Jenson cuts himself for the first time. 

CHAPTER TWO
* Jenson reveals to Angel that he loves her boyfriend, Joel. She is fine with it, and he decides to let her tell him.
* The next day, Angel reveals to Joel that Jenson has a crush on him and is gay.

CHAPTER THREE
* In Home EC, Brody and Jenson are kept out of lab to do missing work. Jenson keeps messing up on his assignment because he can't concentrate, and crumples up pieces of paper and throws them in the garbage instead of recycle. Brody mocks him about it. 

CHAPTER FOUR
* Jenson accidentally tells Joel that he loves him, and Joel freaks out. Jenson cuts himself again.
* Jenson tells Angel what happened and she and Joel get into a fight. 
* Jacob asks Jenson later that day if he asked Joel on a date, revealing that Joel told everyone he had asked him out on a date and that he said he loved him.

CHAPTER FIVE
* After a few weeks on not talking to Joel, and Joel not talking to Angel, Jenson decides to tell Angel that Joel apologized so they would stop fighting. Angel tells Jenson that Joel told her the truth, and when Jenson asks Joel why, they get into another fight ultimately ending in the agreement that they never speak to each other ever again.
* Jenson cuts himself again.

CHAPTER SIX 
* Jacob asks Jenson if he is gay; he says he is.
* Some of Jenson's best friends reveal that they are moving away
* One of his best friends reveals that she was raped; the other reveals that she is pregnant

CHAPTER SEVEN
* Vanessa and Jenson decide to become friends again; she wants to be friends than nothing at all and she says she is okay with him being whatever he is.
* Jenson's uncle dies in a fire.

CHAPTER EIGHT
* Jenson's pregnant friends reveals her twins have died, but does not say why.
* Jenson confides in his sister's bisexual best friend, telling him he is gay. 
* Jenson's mother reveals that the guy told her and his sister what Jenson told him. He tells his mother to never talk about it again.

CHAPTER NINE
* The last week of school arrives. Jenson's entire friend group goes to a party thrown by Amber for the last week of school celebration. A friend they haven't seen for a year, Tea, is there. They have a lot fun.
* The last day of school. They have water fights, food fight, go in dunk tanks. Photobooth.
* After school, it is the last goodbye for Jenson and some of his friends. He breaks down.

CHAPTER TEN
* Jenson goes to his friend's birthday celebration at the mall; he is the only one that shows up.
* Does nothing for the rest of the summer
